What do I do to a newly pierced ear if I think its getting infected?

I got my first piercing when I was 3 moths old, and I've never had an problems with them. I recently got them pierced a 2nd time (on the lobe) and one ear seems to be fine, but the other I'm worried is getting infected. What worries me the most it that it seems like the earring itself if going into the whole and making it wider. How do I stop this from happening? Will it stretch out the hole, because eventually, as I get older, I would like for the 2nd holes to close up.
